You are in the right place for natural stone flooring restoration or installation.
With today’s new technology in floor restoration equipment and tools, stone floors can be restored to a like or better than new surface.
Mechanical honing and polishing is done just like in the factory. No artificial shine from topical sealers or wax. With 80 to 90 units of gloss, just like it came from the factory.
Flooring that is natural stone is a beautiful asset to any home. Marble, travertine, limestone, sandstone, and countless others have found their way in up-scale residential homes throughout time.
Those that have had restorative work done to their stone floors realize the time consuming process it is, and that it sometimes yields a less than adequate result.
Today, there is Vitrestore stone Resurfacing system by Jaymin’s. By using our modern equipment and products, your floors can be restored back to a factory finish.
Stone Honing
Stone honing is the process which is used to remove unsightly scratches out of stone. The honing we do is done by using diamond grit abrasives in several stages. One grit removes the scratches of the previous grit until the desired finish is achieved.
Much like sanding a piece of wood to get it smooth. Once the stone is even in appearance and has reached the appropriate grit it is now ready for the polishing stage.
Stone Polishing
After the floor has been honed, the next step is a final polishing. The final polish can be done to a desired sheen: satin, semi-gloss, or high-gloss. Many stones come with a semi gloss finish from the factory like Travertine and Limesone.
The end result is a beautiful hard surface floor the is restored to a like or sometimes even better than new condition.
Stone Enhancer and Sealer
Now with any type of natural stone flooring that is porous, it needs to be sealed with a stone enhancer if a satin finish is preferred. We use a penetration sealer if a semi or high gloss is preferred.
This will help your stone flooring resist staining from oils.
Like most flooring surfaces care is needed in order to preserve the floors brilliance. Using mats at entry ways can help keep sand and grit from finding their way onto your floor.
Be careful not to slide furniture or boxes on your stone floor in order to prevent abrasion. Use a dust mop to remove grit and debris, followed by a flat mop using Revitalizer stone maintenance cleaner provided by Jaymin's.
Using harsh cleavers that are high in alkalinity or that are acidic, like many tile cleaners are, can cause damage to your stone's surface. Jaymin's recommends using a neutral cleaner like Revitalizer and not just water. Residue from water minerals can cause a dull appearance in time. If your stone begins to lose its brilliance, call the floor professionals at Jaymin's right away to avoid costly floor restoration.
